Connecting New Yorkers in need during the Holiday Season!


Since 2018 we have helped over 33,000 New Yorkers connect to the food assistance programs and services they deserve. Our Holiday Listings Campaign is a huge part of that work!

Every year helpNYC provides New Yorkers in need a listing of free holiday meals and events in New York City they can attend for free! Event organizers have found our listings very useful in their efforts to reach out to people as well.

Our 4th Annual Holiday Meals and More Campaign has launched. This is an exciting opportunity for event organizers to list their Thanksgiving, Hanukka, Christmas, Kwanza, and New Years' Events on the Resource Navigator.

The helpNYC Holiday Listings Campaign is split into two sessions

Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaways, Free Meals, and Events
(Thanksgiving Events Only)

  • This campaign lists events that occur between November 7th through November 27th only.

  • Event Registration is open now through November 22, 2022.

  • The campaign will go live on November 1st at

Holiday Meals & More
(December Holidays & New Year's Events Only)

  • This campaign lists Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanza, and New Year's Eve & Day and secular holiday events that occur between December 1st and January 1st.

  • Event Registration is open now through December 23, 2022.

  • The campaign will go live on December 1st at

Event Listing Registrations are accepted for both sessions starting September 20, 2022.

Listing Details

  • Listings are free! There are no fees associated with listing your holiday event.

  • Listings are added to the website throughout the campaigns.

  • There is no fee to be listed. We are funded by private donors and foundations.

  • Your organization or program doesn’t have to be an established helpNYC Partner to participate.

  • The event's physical venue (or virtual target audience) must be held in one or more boroughs in New York City which include The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island.

  • Events must be free or "Pay What You Wish".

  • Events must be open to the public.

  • All listings are reviewed and verified before being listed on the Resource Navigator.

  • Our listings are not partial to ​​any secular, denomination, or political organization or institution--private or public. All are encouraged to list with us.

What We Do Not List

  • Events that require:

    • an admission or donation that is not "pay what you wish"

    • participation in sales or marketing presentations.

    • participation in religious ceremonies, lectures, or services.

    • discriminate on the basis of age, sex, gender, sexual orientation, race, culture, immigration status, socioeconomic status, or any protected class.

    • participation in media events.

Please note that helpNYC reserves the right to remove or decline to list any event with or without reason.

Before you begin...

We suggest you gather the following information to help you with registering.

  • Presenting Organization Information including their website and social media tags if applicable.

  • Event Name

  • Event Date(s) & Time(s)

  • Event Location (actual physical address or closest cross street that can be verified.)

  • Event description (What should participants expect?)

  • Pre-registration requirements and directions, if applicable.

  • Participation Requirements and Restrictions (i.e. age, identification needs, registration, cooking facilities, zip code, etc.)

  • Dietary options for people who are observant. (i.e. Kosher, Halal, Vegan, Vegetarian)

  • If there is any additional information a person should know or bring to the event in order to participate?
